You just don’t see Apple’s iPhone being used as an enterprise phone by many companies, although some Fortune 500 companies have started bowing to internal pressure and deploying them as company phones along with the venerable BlackBerry. Alcatel’s OT-808 is a strange, netbook-like clamshell phone aimed at teens

February 24th 2010

At this point, the shapes and form of most cell phones are a thoroughly predictable affair. You can practically delineate them into separate species of phone. You’ve got your standard multitouch smartphone affair, your slider phone, your Blackberry, your candy bar, your flip phone… and that’s pretty much it.
So as ultimately worthless and behind-the-times a [...]

Gartner today reported its worldwide smartphone share findings and it’s more of the same for those watching the numbers. February 23rd 2010

As much as I love Pandora for mobile music streaming, I’ve become more enamored with Slacker over time. Today, Slacker added what was promised at last month’s Consumer Electronics Show — music caching that enables offline playback. BlackBerry handsets already offered music caching, but it wasn’t a wireless function. As of today, with the latest version of Slacker, [...]

Kindle for BlackBerry released

February 19th 2010

Many people think Amazon is content to have consumers just read books on their Kindle e-book reader. That belief would be an oversimplification of Amazon’s strategy. Sure, Amazon would love for the Kindle to be a consumer’s primary choice for reading, but the online retailer acknowledges that people don’t take their Kindles with them everywhere. [...]

Apple and BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) are receiving some competition from an unlikely source. Believe or not it’s Kodak.
