Gamer creates huge SNES controller
You know the old saying, “Go big or go home?”
Well - here is an avid gamer who decided to take this saying to heart but was also able to “go big” without leaving his apartment. His project was to build a large SNES controller as a challenge to his woodworking skills and his love of gaming. The result? If I can borrow a line from David Bowman in the movie 2010, “Something wonderful.”
Taking several months to complete, the shell of the large 4-foot SNES controller is created completely out of wood including the D-Pad and all the buttons. In order to keep the electronics simple, the switches were wired into the board of a regular sized SNES controller. The shell was then painted and stenciled to look like just like its smaller counterpart.
If you have to ask if it works, then take a look at the video above to see the fruits of this labor.
Next up, we need someone to make a giant N64 controller as we have already seen a working giant NES controller.
